I wasn’t going to officially take part in NaNo but it’s all over my social media. I couldn’t escape its influence, and the idea of participating in the community pervaded my mind.

Day 1 was yesterday. If you’re not familiar with NaNoWriMo, here is a link to the site. If you are, when I say I didn’t hit the word count goal, y’all know that’s not great. I got it in just under 12:00. I tend to write at night, and yes, my sleep schedule is horrible. Don’t be like me.

I plan to do weekly updates on the blog at least, chronicling my progress and thoughts on this rough draft. The story is Dwarf Star Foxtrot, a story I briefly talked about here. It’s the newest and shiniest and fits the spirit of NaNo, working on a new project.

Anyone else doing NaNo?

Are you allowed to quote from other works in your book and still have the words count towards your total word tally?

You can write whatever you want, but if you copy and paste someone else’s words, you’re not really writing. They aren’t your words, technically speaking. I wouldn’t count it, personally.

This is way late, sorry. How’d you end up doing in NaNo?
